Polycarbonate (PC), mainly referring to bisphenol A polycarbonate, is a kind of strong and tough thermoplastic plastic, an almost colorless amorphous polymer in the glass state, and has good optical properties.

PC high molecular weight resin has high toughness. The notch impact strength of cantilever beam is 600~900J/m, and the thermal deformation temperature of unfilled brand is about 130 ° C. This value can be increased by 10 ° C after glass fiber reinforcement. The bending modulus of PC can reach more than 2400MPa, and the resin can be processed into large rigid products. The creep rate under load is very low below 100 ° C.

The three major application fields of PC engineering plastics are glass assembly industry, automobile industry, electronics and electrical appliances industry, followed by industrial machinery parts, optical disks, packaging, computer and other office equipment, medical and health care, film, leisure and protective equipment, etc. PC can be used as window glass. PC laminate is widely used in protective windows of banks, public places and other facilities, as well as aircraft cabin covers, lighting equipment, industrial safety baffles and bulletproof glass.

Of course, for the aging of PC, whether thermal oxygen aging or photo oxygen aging, the role of oxygen in the processing and use environment is also an important negative factor that can not be ignored. Water, additives and other factors will also cause yellowing of PC materials. Therefore, in the actual production and application, we should comprehensively consider the process and formula, which does not mean that it is OK to add a little UV absorber.

For the anti-aging of PC materials, especially the improvement of its UV resistance or weather resistance, we have carried out a lot of research, and carried out a lot of comparative verification tests with customers. Finally, we have achieved satisfactory results, and developed a weathering masterbatch LS-141 for PC materials. The weathering performance of this product has been highly recognized by customers.
