Dachang lighting polycarbonate profile extrusion — 71/46mm zigzag surface PC linear lampshade for LED fixtures

Custom Lighting Polycarbonate Profile Supplier for LED, Fluorescent and Rail Fixtures

Most buyers arrive here with one of three jobs: matching a cover to a housing that already exists, replacing an acrylic part that keeps cracking in the field, or getting a new luminaire tooled without paying for two rounds of samples. Dachang covers all three from one extrusion floor in Dongguan — LED diffuser covers from 38mm to 76mm wide, high-impact PC lamp covers such as model WT303-ALP045, PC/PMMA co-extruded linear lampshades, and large flame-retardant sections for metro and high-speed rail up to 400mm wide. Below you'll find the real dimensions, the transmission bands, and what we need from you to quote.

You have a housing already

Check your snap dimension against the sizes in the table below. If one matches, there's no tooling cost and quotation is quick.

You're switching from acrylic or glass

Read the transmission comparison — you'll trade 2–5 points of light for impact and fire performance. That trade is the whole reason PC exists in this category.

You're tooling a new fixture

Send the cross-section. Our design engineers comment on wall thickness and radii before the die is cut, which is where most first-project cost gets removed.

In-Stock Lighting Profiles in Polycarbonate — Verified Sections for Fast Quotation

Every figure below comes from the product page for that item, not from a general datasheet. Check them against your fixture before you ask for a sample.

First 123 Last

None of these match your housing? That's normal — roughly every custom job starts that way. Send the cross-section and we'll tell you within one review whether an existing Dachang die can be adapted or a new one is needed.

Wholesale Lighting Polycarbonate Profile Selection: PC or Acrylic for Your Cover?

This is the decision that costs buyers the most money when it goes wrong, so here are the numbers we quote rather than a claim about quality. Acrylic wins on light. Polycarbonate wins everywhere the part gets hit, heated or fire-tested.

Cover type Polycarbonate Acrylic (PMMA)
Transparent lampshade 92–95% transmission 95–97%
Large light-diffusion stripe cover 90–92% 93–95%
Light-diffusion (opal) cover 85–88% 90–92%
Our 40mm LED diffuser cover Above 80%, with the source concealed

You give up two to five points of light by choosing PC. In return you get a cover that survives installation handling, transport, vibration and fire testing — which is exactly why rail operators moved off glass shades, and why our large train covers are extruded in flame-retardant PC rather than acrylic. If your fixture lives in a ceiling and nobody ever touches it, acrylic may genuinely be the better buy, and we'll say so; we extrude lighting acrylic sections too.

How long before the cover yellows?

For rail-transit shades we run Mitsubishi, Sunlight or customer-nominated UV-resistant resin, with a ten-year yellowing change figure of 8%. For LED diffuser covers exposed to sun, ask about LS-141 — a weathering masterbatch our team developed for PC materials and verified together with customers. It's a formulation to specify at RFQ, not a product code to order, and it only matters if your project really sees UV. Say so in the enquiry and we'll fix the grade before the sample runs.

Tolerances that hold across repeat orders

The 46mm lamp cover is produced to ±0.3mm on the section and ±0.5mm on cut length. That number matters if covers from a run in March have to snap into housings built in September without anyone reaching for a file. Walls across the listed range sit between 1.3mm and 2mm, and we publish linear weight for each item — 80 g/m, 95 g/m, 130 g/m, 600 g/m — so your logistics team can cost freight before the first PO instead of after it.

What our co-extrusion line does that a single-screw supplier can't

Co-extrusion lines went in back in 2010, which lets us build a two-layer wall — say a diffusing outer skin over a structural core — in one pass instead of asking you to buy a second part and clip it on. It's also how the zigzag lampshade gets its optical surface, with shot peening running inline so the finish stays consistent metre after metre. Combined with sections up to 400mm wide at 3–5mm thick, that's the technical gap between us and most LED-only extruders.

OEM Lighting Polycarbonate Profile Manufacturing at Dachang — Drawing to Bulk Order

Our mould department was rebuilt in 2023 and now turns drawings into a sampled die within 72 hours. The real clock on your project is die feasibility and resin confirmation, not machine time — so the more you tell us up front, the fewer sample rounds you pay for.

STEP 1

Drawing review — section, wall, LED board distance, target output

STEP 2

Material check — standard PC, flame-retardant grade, or LS-141 weathering

STEP 3

Die assessment — existing tooling reused wherever it fits

STEP 4

Sample run — judged inside your housing, with your LED board

STEP 5

Bulk production — repeat runs measured against the approved sample

"Am I going to be pushed into tooling I don't need?"

No. The first thing we do with any drawing is hold it against dies we already own. When a stock section like the 40mm or 46mm cover sits inside your tolerance, you skip the tooling charge entirely and we quote from the shelf. A new die gets proposed only when the geometry genuinely can't be matched — and then the review covers cooling stability and PC flow behaviour before anyone talks about a sample plan.

"What sets my minimum order quantity?"

We don't publish one number, because it isn't one number. MOQ is driven by die availability, resin changeover on the line, cut length and packing format — a repeat run on existing tooling in standard PC has a far lower practical floor than a fresh flame-retardant section. Tell us the volume you actually need alongside the drawing and we'll say plainly whether it clears the line economics, before you commit anything.

"Can you ship under my brand, my labels, my packing?"

Yes, and it's worth specifying early: packing changes how we cut and carton, not just how the box looks. Optical parts are unforgiving here — a scratched diffuser is a rejected part, not a cosmetic complaint. Give us cut length, carton rules, labelling, and whether the covers go straight to assembly or into your warehouse for six months.

"Who owns the die and the drawing?"

Tooling terms are written into the quotation for each custom project rather than covered by a blanket policy, so raise die ownership, exclusivity and drawing confidentiality in your RFQ and get it documented before we cut steel. On the engineering side, our design team works from your CAD and will also push back on the section itself — wall thickness, corner radii, cooling behaviour — which is usually where the first cost reduction on a new project comes from.

Six things that get you a firm price on the first reply:

  • Cross-section drawing or a photo of the existing part
  • Cut length and first-order plus annual quantity
  • Target transmission, or the diffusion effect you're after
  • Flame-retardant level, if your market tests for it
  • Certificates your customer will ask you for
  • Packing and labelling format

Certified Lighting Polycarbonate Profile Factory: ISO 9001, RoHS and REACH

ISO 9001 certified processes

Dachang runs ISO 9001-certified processes, which is what makes a ±0.3mm tolerance a commitment across repeat orders rather than a lucky first sample. For your incoming inspection, it means documented process control you can audit.

RoHS and REACH compliance

Our extruded products are made to meet international environmental standards including RoHS and REACH — the baseline for landing finished luminaires in the EU without a substance declaration holding your container at customs.

UL, CE and project-specific documents

We don't claim blanket UL or CE coverage across the catalogue, because that would be untrue. Name the certificate you need at RFQ stage and we'll check what's available and which resin grade it requires — before sampling, not after your first container ships.

Checks worth running on arrival

Measure width, height, wall and linear weight against the approved sample. Judge transmission and dot concealment on your own LED board, not a loose offcut. Confirm the resin grade matches the heat, fire and weathering level you specified.

The background behind those claims: founded in 1998, headquartered in Dongguan with processing centres in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing, co-extrusion capacity since 2010, exports across Asia, Europe, Africa, South America and North America, and around two decades of work specifically on rail-transit lamp shades.

Buyer FAQs on Sourcing Lighting Polycarbonate Profiles from China

Which sizes can I quote against today without paying for tooling?

Sections already tooled include 38mm × 9.4mm at 1.5mm wall, 40mm × 4mm at 1.3mm, 46mm at 1.3mm (model WT303-ALP045), and 76mm × 22mm at 1.5mm. Rail-transit covers run 150–400mm wide at 3–5mm thick. If one of these sits inside your tolerance, there's no die charge and quotation is fast.

What tolerance does Dachang hold on extruded PC lamp covers?

±0.3mm on the section and ±0.5mm on cut length for the 46mm cover. For a new custom geometry the achievable tolerance is confirmed at drawing review, since it depends on wall thickness, section complexity and how the part cools. Mark your critical dimension on the drawing so it gets assessed before the die is cut.

Acrylic transmits 2–5 points more light in every comparable band — 95–97% clear against 92–95% for PC, 90–92% opal against 85–88%. Choose polycarbonate when impact strength, heat resistance or flame retardancy outweighs those points: rail vehicles, industrial fixtures, and anything handled roughly during installation.

How fast can I see a first sample?

Mould design and sampling complete within 72 hours of receiving dimensional drawings or a physical part. Assess that sample inside your real fixture with the LED board fitted — a cover that looks perfect on the bench can still show dots or shadow lines once it's assembled.

Can you supply UV-stable covers for outdoor luminaires?

Yes, through resin selection rather than a coating. LS-141 is our reference weathering masterbatch for PC; rail covers use UV-resistant grades with a ten-year yellowing change of 8%. State the exposure conditions in your enquiry so the grade is locked before sampling instead of after a field complaint.

Why buy from Dachang rather than a trading company?

Because the extrusion lines, the mould shop and the engineer answering your drawing are the same organisation. That's why we can commit to a 72-hour sample, tell you honestly when an existing die fits, and put you back in touch with the same section two years later for a repeat run.
